ChatGPT can provide straightforward answers to questions, which compares well to Google search for some use cases. However, Google Search is far better than ChatGPT for news and product searches. The degree of “disruption threat” ChatGPT poses to Google is overstated. However, Google does face one real risk: hubris. Google has been so successful for so long that it has become less careful with spending AND less bold in risk-taking than competitors. That could become a problem in the long term.
