Matt Murray, the executive editor of the Washington Post, defended a decision by the outlet’s billionaire owner Jeff Bezos to make sweeping cuts to its newsroom, a move that has reduced its staff by hundreds. “He wants the Post to be a bigger, relevant, thriving institution,” Murray said of Bezos during an interview with CNN published Thursday. “I can say from my perspective, Jeff is nothing but supportive of getting the house in order and being positioned for growth.” […]
