KC Residents Push to Cancel ALPR Camera Contracts Ahead of National Week of Action

Drivers across the Kansas City metro pass them daily without a second glance. Automatic license plate readers — networked cameras that photograph every plate and log the time, date, and location — sit on poles throughout the region. Local reporting estimates approximately 1,500 or more in the metro, with Flock Safety reportedly operating the majority.
