THE NATURE CONSERVANCYHelen Taylor is the state director of the Michigan Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, serving as the nonprofit’s top leader in the state since 1999. Appointed by former Gov. Rick Snyder, Taylor also serves on the Great Lakes Commission, 21st Century Infrastructure Commission and the Environmental Rules Review Committee. Taylor, 59, got a new pair of Carhartt overalls for Christmas and spent the recent holiday break bushwacking a trail on her property in Northern Michigan. The Northern Michigan University graduate has dedicated the last 30 years of her career to the Great Lakes and conservation.
