Following months of modifications and updates after a fire shut down the facility last April, American Zinc Recycling LLC, is back in production.
One of the leading providers of environmental services to the U.S. steel industry, the company announced it has officially restarted its Rutherford County plant. The facility, which is designed to produce special high-grade zinc using recycled steel mill dust, is expected to produce 155,000 tons of SHG zinc annually. American Zinc Recycling Corp takes steel mill dust, which is a hazardous waste that would otherwise be sent to landfills, and recycles it using a special kiln technology.
